Terms and Conditions for Academic Research Data Use
1. Introduction and Definitions:
1.1. These terms and conditions govern the use of demographic data sets provided by International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS) for academic research purposes.
1.2. "Data User," "you," or "your" refers to the individual or entity registering to access and use the Data for academic research purposes.
1.3. "Data Provider," "we," "us," or "our" refers to the entity providing the Data for academic research purposes.
2. Purpose:
2.1. The purpose of providing access to the Data is to facilitate academic research only.
3. Consent:
3.1. By registering to access the Data, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to abide by these terms and conditions.
4. Data Access:
4.1. Upon successful registration, you need to request the Data for academic research purposes only.
4.2. Access to the Data is provided on a non-transferable basis and is solely for the use of the registered Data User.
5. Data Usage:
5.1. The Data provided by the IIPS may only be used for educational activities and academic research purposes.
5.2. Any commercial use, including but not limited to commercial research, marketing, or product development, is strictly prohibited.
6. Data Sharing:
6.1. All shared data are considered confidential and are to be handled with the utmost care to prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse. Parties agree to maintain the confidentiality of shared data and to only disclose data to authorized individuals or entities involved in the research or educational activities outlined in this agreement.
6.2. Sharing the Data with third parties for commercial purposes is strictly prohibited.
7. Data Integrity:
7.1. You agree to maintain the integrity of the Data and refrain from altering or manipulating it in any way that could compromise its accuracy or validity.
8. Attribution:
8.1. Any publications or presentations resulting from the use of shared data should acknowledge the source of the data and provide appropriate attribution to the IIPS.
9. Ethical Use:
9.1. You agree to use the Data in an ethical manner, ensuring that your research activities do not cause harm to individuals or communities represented in the Data.
10. Data Protection and Security:
10.1. You agree to take appropriate measures to protect the confidentiality and security of the Data, including safeguarding against unauthorized access or disclosure.

13.1. The Data Provider reserves the right to terminate your access to the Data at any time if you violate these terms and conditions or engage in any misconduct.

14.1. These terms and conditions may be updated or modified by the Data Provider from time to time. You will be notified of any changes, and your continued use of the Data constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction:
15.1. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these terms shall be exclusively resolved in the court of competent civil jurisdiction at Mumbai only.
